National Teacher Day

It’s National Teacher Day, so if you can read my babbling blog, thank a teacher! Do you remember your favorite teacher? Or the teacher that had the biggest impact on your life?

I’ve been lucky and had several:

My 4th grade teacher, Ms. Horton, who noticed that I liked to draw.

Mrs. Caldwell, who in 6th grade, introduced me to good children’s literature when she challenged her class to read as many of the Newberry Medal books as we could for a prize.

The high school art teacher who taught me about perspective, painting, stained glass, and clay.

Mr. McLarin, in college, for his story telling abilities. He managed to make me enjoy learning about James Fenimore Cooper and Natty Bumpo.

Dr. Masters, in graduate school, who made me think that there really might be a chance for me to do cool stuff in the future.

Thank you, Teachers, for making an impact!

You can make an impact, too! Share your creative skills with others. Teach a group of kids to crochet, knit, or quilt
